History: We have displayed this car in our showroom for the last several years to the delight of old racers and fans from the period, and young folks who have seldom seen one of these legendary quarter mile monsters in person. Because of the unique combination of period elements that have obviously been with the car for decades, this car has unlimited potential in the hands of an enthusiast. Whether it be a collector who will continue to show and run this awesome car, or a builder who has the skills, time and dedication to convert it to a period style street and strip car, this is a unique opportunity. The history that came with this car is somewhat limited. Until recently, it was believed to have been built at a famous Chevrolet dealership in Chicago, IL. It was thanks to the hard work of an interested 3rd party that we were able to determine this was not the case. The earliest paperwork we have is a copy of the title, dated 1971, in the name of Edward Nicholas Sciacca from Berwyn, IL. It was found at a gas station at 110th and Halstad in Chicago, IL. Ed raced the car with dark red paint from 1968 through 1970. The car was then in storage for 35 years. Ed sold the car, refinished in Hugger Orange to collector Ralph Thomas, BAT Competition Museum, of Highlands N.C. in 2005. The car sold again to gasser enthusiast Larry Small of Stuarts Draft, Virginia in 2008. Larry showed the car and made a few passes at nostalgia events before selling the car to our client, so he could pursue another historic race car. While the car still wears decals of the dealership from it’s fanciful history, we have digitally removed those decals in our photographs in order to show the blank palette and to avoid any further confusion.
